Questions

Yes. Type the X and Y position and the width and height in pixels, or drag the box and read the numbers update. Choose a ratio such as 1:1 to lock the shape while you resize.

Which aspect ratio should I choose?

Use 1:1 for profile pictures and square posts, 4:5 for portrait social posts, 16:9 for video thumbnails and slides, and 3:2 or 4:3 for standard photo prints.

Does cropping lower the image quality?

No pixels inside the box are changed. Saving as PNG is lossless, while JPG and WebP use the quality slider you set.
